Andrew Garfield is Desmond Doss in Hacksaw Ridge

From The Amazing Spider-Man and The Social Network, to Never Let Me Go and 99 Homes, it’s clear Andrew Garfield can tackle any role. In Mel Gibson’s new WWII film Hacksaw Ridge, Garfield stars as Desmond Doss, the first conscientious objector to war that earns the Medal of Honor. He believes the war is just, but doesn’t want to carry a weapon. Risen‘s Editor-in-Chief Kelli Gillespie talked to the Golden Globe Nominee about holding onto integrity, the miraculous act of this man and the complicated relationship between a father and his son.

Hacksaw Ridge is distributed by Lionsgate and in theatres November 4th: www.HacksawRidge.movie
