Dolly Parton: Spiritual Roots, Faith and Being a Light

Dolly Parton’s roots, family and faith are important to her. When we sat down to talk, she shared that her grandfather was a preacher and that she grew up very poor but very spiritual.

Parton has always believed through God all things are possible and faith is key to everything she does. It keeps her strong when weak. Parton says she always asks God to let her be a light and let her meet people and glorify him, adding it is her whole purpose in this world.

Now eight of her songs are showcased as mini-movies in the Netflix series, Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings. It streams starting Friday, November 22.
