Easter Gifts

Easter is right around the corner and it can be hard to not get caught up in the commercialism of the holiday. After all kids look really cute in their Easter suits and dresses and who can pass up a peanut butter filled Easter egg? But Easter can also be a great opportunity to give a gift with meaning to someone who might be searching spiritually. You can give them the gift and use it as a platform to ask them what they believe, invite them to church and ask if they would be open to a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Whether it’s your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews or a friend, we share a roundup of some of our favorite gifts to give for Easter for all the bunnies in your life.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. John 14:6-7

Subscription to Risen Magazine. Consider getting a subscription for a friend, neighbor or co-worker. With so many great interviews with celebrities, it is easy to find an actor, actress or movie someone resonates with, share that interview with them and let the person know that you got them a subscription. It can also be a blessing to give a subscription to someone you don’t know. Consider “adopting” a military member as a family or small group and putting together an Easter care package for them. Your church or local military ministry may have a list of deployed military members you can send a care package to. Pack some other goodies for them and some encouraging notes. Then commit to praying for them weekly throughout the year.

A book that inspires. Books can be great gifts especially for teachers, coaches or others that impact you and your children’s lives. It could be a book that helps them in what they do or a book that you have found inspirational. It can be fun to pair this with a coffee gift card or some fun Easter treats. If it is a book that has special meaning to you or your family write a note and share why. If it is a book being given to the classroom write a note from your child and date it. Here are some Easter theme books that are great to give as gifts: “A Very Happy Easter Prayer,” “The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story,” and “The Legend of the Sand Dollar: An Inspirational Story of Hope for Easter.” Win a copy of “A Very Happy Easter Prayer,” click here: https://www.blessedfreebies.com/enter-to-win-a-very-happy-easter-prayer.html

A gift of service. This can be a great one to do as a family or small group. Ask your pastor, ministry leader or small group leader of there is a family or someone that you can serve and for a list of things that you can do to help them. You may not be able to accomplish all of them but even one or two acts of service can be a huge blessing. From making s meal to babysitting for s couple hours so someone can go to the doctor, demonstrating Gods love through service is a reflection of what Christ did on the cross for us. Take time as a group to pray for the individual or family that you helped. Pray that God would provide for all of their needs and His love to be evident through you.

A gift that gives back. There are so many great companies out there that use a portion of the proceeds to give back to others. These can be fun gifts because you are not only giving a gift to your friend or family member but also through the organization that the company partners with. We have highlighted some of the amazing stories of the founders in the magazine including Bridgewater candles, Sydney Paige backpacks31 Bits Jewelry, and bags and purses from The Aruna Project.

A worship CD. Whether you are in the car or in the kitchen a worship album can be a great gift for anyone wherever they are at on their spiritual journey. If you have a friend that is struggling or searching try to find an artist with a similar struggle. Often, they will have a song that talks about their struggle and hopefully it will minister to your friend as well. Worship music has the ability to change our perspective. If you are having trouble thinking of some albums to give as gifts as your worship pastor. Here are some of our favorites: Higher Vision’s “For Your Kingdom,” Jon Foreman’s “The Wonderlands,” and Julie Elias’ “A Girl Like Me.”

We hope that you have a great Easter and that God reminds you of His love for you. May you use this season as an opportunity to share His love with others so they may come in an everlasting relationship with Him.

We were given books and CDs from Zonderkidz and Frontgate Media for consideration, but all of our thoughts and ideas are our own.
