Escape From Extinction: Why You Should Care About One Million Species Disappearing

.

A new documentary, Escape From Extinction, examines the work of the major zoological organizations that are racing against the clock to preserve the million species disappearing in today’s Sixth Mass Extinction. It’s fascinating, heartbreaking and important for families to watch and educate themselves against all the misinformation.

Directed by Matthew Brady and narrated by Academy Award, Tony and Emmy-Award-winner Helen Mirren, we had a fascinating conversation with Brady where we got into everything from how sharks get a bad rap, to why Yellowstone needs wolves, to the illegal exotic pet trade, and the important role zoos and aquariums play in conservation and breeding of animals to keep them from extinction.

Escape From Extinction will have its West Coast Premiere Thursday, October 15 at the San Diego Diego Film Festival. Later that day, the film will get a theatrical release showing in San Diego at Cinepolis La Costa and Del Mar and then Friday at the LOT La Jolla,  Landmark Hillcrest, & Angelika Carmel Mountain for one week only. Check local listings for the theatres in your state showing the film.
