Risen Reflections

Say, “Thank you.” When we get ready for bed, sometimes we are so tired that we forget to pray and others times are minds are racing with all the things we need to get done the next day that we become anxious. A great way to end the day is by taking time to pray and thank God for all that He has done. Take time this week to daily pray before you go to bed. You could pray with your family, roommate or even a friend over the phone. You might want to pray by yourself. Sometimes it can be fun to write out your prayer and then you can have a way to look back on all the ways God has been working in your life.

Find a devotional or book for your bedtime routine. If you have children in your life, God Bless You and Good Night could be a great option for a bedtime story. You might want to find a devotional to read together as a family or something you want to study on your own. After you read together, share thoughts you had and prayer requests. If anyone has questions, try to take some time to answer them or write it down and answer it the next day.

Bless someone else. A book can be a great gift for someone. It could be a pastor at your church, someone in ministry, a friend in small group or a co-worker. Pair it with a note on what that book means to you and why you appreciate that person. You could also pair it with a gift certificate to their favorite coffee shop. It could be a book that inspired your faith or a book that you enjoy reading with your family. After you give the person that book, pray for them that God would speak to them and encourage them in their faith.
