Helena Zengel: Kiowa Culture, America & Horses

.

.

Helena Zengel plays a 10-year-old german immigrant, orphaned twice, raised by Kiowa people and then she meets Captain Kidd, played by Tom Hanks. For her role in News of the World, Zengel learned the Kiowa language and culture. The 50+ days of filmming all on location allowed Zengel to make her first trip to America and spend her days with Hanks. We talked with the young girl about her experience as well as the Western horse riding needed for the film.
