Singin’ in the Rain Celebrates 70th Anniversary: Own it in 4K
First hitting the silver screen in 1952, Singin’ in the Rain is getting a makeover arriving in show-stopping 4K Ultra HD as part of the musical masterpiece’s 70th anniversary celebration. Rediscover how it focused on silent movies giving way to talking pictures – and hoofer-turned-matinee idol (Gene Kelly) is caught in that bumpy transition, as are his buddy (Donald O’Connor), prospective ladylove (Debbie Reynolds), and shrewish costar (Jean Hagen).
We talked with Gene Kelly’s wife and autobiographer Patricia Ward Kelly, about how this movie withstands the test of time, the incredible dancing and how every time it rains, people immediately think of the movie, and well, start singing!
Singin’ in the Rain is making its way out to 4K Blu-ray combo pack and on digital April 26th.
