The Sea Beast: Karl Urban on Adventure, Moral Wisdom and Staying Curious

Adventurous natures can’t be tamed — whether you’re a professional monster hunter or a young stowaway on a pirate ship.

A thrilling animated adventure for the whole family, The Sea Beast, comes to Netflix from Moana and Big Hero 6 filmmaker Chris Williams.

We meet Maisie Brumble, a young girl fascinated by the valiant sailors who slay dangerous beasts haunting the deep seas. She reads the lore of their triumphs with beaming pride, hoping to venture off on her own someday. She becomes friends with Jacob for an unforgettable adventure on the high seas.

Risen sat down with Urban to talk about the themes of the film and of course all the fun family action too.

Raise your sails when The Sea Beast drops on Netflix on July 8.
